What can I put into a new garden?

The options are virtually endless! Transitions Landscaping has access to virtually any type of plant, bush, shrub and tree in the northeast! Whatever your dream garden has in it, we can plant it for you. Transitions Landscaping will take you through the process of seeing which particular plants and bushes, etc. that you wish to have in your garden and incorporate those demands and add in our suggestions for plants that have the colors to compliment your favorites to make them pop!

By laying out all the plants and bushes ahead of time, both on paper and later at a full scale, you have the chance to tinker with the layout and work hand in hand to create the garden of your dreams. If you wish to have less of a hands on approach to the garden layout, you will be in good hands with our expert garden architect with decades of experience.

Is there any benefit to mulching my garden?

Absolutely!

While the main motivation to add mulch to a garden may initially be for aesthetics, there are critical benefits to adding mulch that makes it an absolute must when creating a new garden landscape:

  • Retains moisture in the soil that aids plant hydration
  •  Organic mulch contributes to the overall health of the soil when it breaks down
  • Mulch can help snuff out weeds, which can be harmful to plants and are an eyesore
  • Can protect garden beds from erosion and can provide some protection to plants from lawn equipment
  • Some mulch types, such as cypress, cedar or pinewood chips, do an excellent job of repelling ticks, gnats and fleas
